Belfast

• Belfast Castle 
  Open daily, Admission FREE. On the slopes of Cave Hill, it is a great place to sample excellent cuisine, historical atmosphere and beautiful gardens.

• Belfast Zoo 
  Open Daily, April-Sept 10am-5pm. On a fifty acre site with panoramic views over the city and Belfast Lough, this modern world class zoo acts as a safe place for over 160 species of rare or highly endangered animals housed in award winning enclosures which replicate their natural environments.

• Cave Hill Country Park 
  Open Daily. The Park has a wealth of geological, archeological and botanical interest. Visit the Cavehill Visitor Centre for free trail map and literature.

• Odyssey Complex 
  Includes a magnificent indoor Arena, home of Belfast Giants ice hockey team, IMAX theatre, 14 screen cinema, restaurants, bars and W5 Interactive Discovery Centre with more than 100 thrilling exhibits and spectacular installations which will fire the imaginations of people of all ages.

• Parliament Buildings Stormont 
  Stormont is a public park which remains open until 7.30pm. Pedestrians can walk from the main gates to the statue of Carson, along the Prince of Wales Avenue.

• Botanic Gardens 
  Open daily. This is world-class, with its great greenhouses and glorious herbaceous walkways, formal bedding and shrubberies.

• Lagan Valley Regional Park 
  Open daily. Straddling 13 miles of the most scenic stretches of the Lagan, the Park comprises an attractive mix of natural amenities.

• Malone House 
  Open Mon.- Sat. Admission FREE. Built in the 1820s this elegant mansion commands superb views over the Lagan Valley Regional Park.

• Clonard Monastery 
  Clonard Church is designed in early French Gothic. During World War 2 the crypt was used as an air-raid shelter by women and children from the Falls.

• The Giant’s Causeway 
  Located on the scenic Antrim Coast, the Giant’s Causeway is Northern Ireland’s top tourist attraction and World Heritage site.

• Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge 
  Carrick-a-Rede boasts unrivalled coastal scenery and an exhilarating rope bridge experience. Traditionally fishermen erected the bridge to Carrick-a-Rede island over a 30m deep and 20m wide chasm to check their salmon nets. This National Trust attraction can be crossed by members of the public.

• Bushmills Distillery 
  Near the Giant’s Causeway is the quaint town of Bushmills, home to the oldest licensed whiskey distillery in the world.

• Derry City 
  The 17th century walled City of Derry is the only remaining completely walled city in Ireland. A train journey to the City along the scenic North Coast has been described by Michael Palin as “one of the most beautiful rail journeys in the world”.

• Ulster Folk & Transport Museum 
  This museum holds Ireland’s largest collection of trains, vintage buses and cars. The museum also shows how country life was in N. Ireland a century ago.
