3rd April 2008:
Its time for the girls to show the men how it is done! Ever wanted to know what it is like to be a bus driver and make it your career? If so, then come along to Translink’s “Have a Go” day aimed at encouraging more females to become a bus driver in what is generally deemed to be a male dominated industry.
Between the 8-10 April 2008 at Nutts Corner, Co. Antrim, Translink is hosting a unique and informative day starting at 8.45am until 4pm.
Paula Ludlow, Personnel Services and Systems Manager Translink explains more: "We are delighted to offer this great opportunity for women to discover that bus driving is as accessible to them as any other job they would choose. Whether you want to return to work, take a career change or have been considering a role as a bus driver you can take one of our buses for a test drive under expert instruction and sample what it would be like to work behind the wheel of a bus.
You will also have the opportunity to take part in ticketing demonstrations, talk to some of our current female drivers about their experiences and allay any misconceptions or fears you may have when considering bus driving as a rewarding and fulfilling career.”
It’s a first come, first serve basis, so what are you waiting for? You can reserve your place by calling our Human Resource Dept on 028 90 899400 ext 2295/2204 during office hours.
