Withdrawal of Nightlink Services

12th June 2008:
Translink wish to inform passengers that Nightlink Services operating on a Saturday night will cease to operate from the end of June with the date of last operation being Saturday 28th June 2008.

Translink have been monitoring services for sometime however passenger numbers continue to be low despite on- going marketing campaigns.

Central Area Network Manager Billy Gilpin says ‘Whilst we are disappointed that we have had to take these steps we will continue to review night time travel and respond to demand accordingly.

This has been a difficult decision as service cuts are always a last resort, however we have to make the best use of the resources available in order to continue to provide effective public transport for all our passengers.’

Passengers are reminded that the majority of Metro services operate up to 11pm on the main corridor routes.
