Chastity chooses Translink to Emmerdale Extravaganza

19th May 2008:

Translink are sponsoring the Emmerdale Extravaganza taking place for the first time at the Ulster Folk & Transport Museum, Cultra, on Saturday 7th June 2008.  Today saw the arrival of Chastity Dingle in town to tell people about the event and how to get there.

NI Railways will be operating extra shuttle services on the Bangor line, while Ulsterbus will operate regular services (B2) serving the Museum.

Lynda Shannon Communications Manager at Translink said, ‘We are delighted to be supporting the local community through this charitable event aimed at raising money for The Anthony Nolan Trust.  We have worked closely with the event organisers and the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum in order to make bus and rail the easy option for people wanting to get to this fantastic event.  We hope it will be a huge success and would remind all Seniors Citizens who have a Senior SmartPass that they can travel free to this event from anywhere in Ireland or passengers can take advantage of the third off rail fare promotion if they travel after 9.30am.

For full details of services visit www.translink.co.uk or contact the Translink Call Centre on 028 90 66 66 300

Notes to the Editor:

Demand is expected to be high and we would ask all families to fold prams and buggies before boarding services.

About The Anthony Nolan Trust:

The Anthony Nolan Trust takes back lives from leukemia by providing lifesaving donors for patients in need of a bone marrow transplant.

Since 1974 they have helped to give over 5,800 children and adults a new chance of life. They heavily relay on events such as this to fund the amazing lifesaving work they do and raise the awareness of the cause in order to recruit and fund more potentially lifesaving donors.
