Ni Railways- 16 to 21

If you are 16 – 21 years old and travel regularly by rail, with a 16-21 Rail Discount Card you can save 20% on weekly and monthly season tickets.
  
Weekly tickets

Weekly tickets offer unlimited travel Monday – Sunday between any two named NI Railways stations.
  
Monthly tickets

Monthly tickets offer unlimited travel between any two named NI Railways stations for a full calendar month. Monthly season ticket holders can also enjoy unrestricted travel over the NI Railways network at weekends. (Applicable for tickets of £60 value and above).

It is compulsory to have a 16-21 Rail Discount Card in order to buy discounted weekly and monthly season tickets. So apply now, avoid the rush and start enjoying the savings!

The 16-21 Rail Discount Card costs £7 and is valid for a full calendar year. Cards must be renewed annually.
  
About your card

It is essential to carry your 16-21 Rail Discount Card when travelling on 16-21 discounted rail season tickets. Persons unable to produce a 16-21 Rail Discount Card renders the ticket invalid and the passenger concerned will be required to purchase a new ticket at the full adult fare and may be liable for prosecution.

Discounts apply to normal adult fares and do not apply on special discounted fares or short term promotional fares.
  
How to Apply?

Either take your application in person to any main NI Railways station  with £7 or post to the Translink Pass Office. You will also need to post / bring along the following:

Passport sized photo (name & date of birth on back) AND Birth Certificate, Medical Card, Passport, Driver’s Licence, previous Translink Pupil’s Pass or Student Card.

Only original documentation will be accepted.

Your 16-21 Rail Discount Card will be returned to you within 7 working days (postal applications within 10 working days). All documentation will be returned with the completed card.

No cash will be accepted via post. Cheques/postal orders or credit/debit cards details should accompany postal applications. Please allow 10 working days for postal applications. If a card is lost/stolen contact the Translink Pass Office. Tel: 028 9035 4074. A £7.00 card replacement fee applies for lost or stolen cards. All information will be treated in the strictest confidence.
